Greg Block - Expert Witness
Greg Block is a highly credentialed law enforcement use of force instructor. He has taught to city, county, state and federal agencies in the five southwestern states for over thirty five years. Training is from the basics to the very advanced. For the past seventeen years, he has been using simulators to augment his live fire training and for the past sixteen years he has been presenting the "Force Option Simulator" class for California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) in the perishable skills program. His mobile simulator has traveled to 36 of the 58 counties in California, training over 23% of the agencies in the state. He is one of the few individuals in the over 50 year history of POST to have his own POST Course Control Number (1024);, all others are held by agencies and community colleges.
He is also a California POST Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Force Options Simulators, Use of Force, Defensive Tactics, Firearms and Chemical Agents. As a SME, he writes academy curriculum in those learning domain areas.
He currently holds over sixty instructor credentials dealing in all uses of force. Mr. Block is also a qualified Expert Witness in numerous Superior plus Municipal State and Federal courts dealing with Firearms. He has testified and given expert testimony in civil depositions, dealing with firearms issues in all shootings including hunting, homicides, suicides, involuntary and accidental. This work has been for both the defense and prosecution in the above areas.
As a license firearms manufacturer, he has consulted and testified in all weapon related matters from design, functioning, operability, maintenance, inspection and testing to firing. Trajectory and ricochets along with shooting scene reconstruction has also been done.
